Some housekeeping for the Tuesday post.
From this weekend, we'd like to collect statistics of the ride leader per group, and the number of riders per group. This will be to help with route and cafe planning, and also allow us to recognise our ride leaders at the end of the year, particularly our new ones. Please could someone from each group comment on the Friday ride post with the leader and numbers?
There have been some situations recently where riders have been mismatched with the speed of the group they are in. This affects the group dynamics and causes the rides to be very stop/start.
If you are feeling good then try catching the group in front (very hard!) or sit on the front making sure you don't drop people.
If you aren't feeling good then consider letting the ride leader know, sit up and wait for the next group to come through - you'll have a good rest and a more comfortable pace to ride at when the group gets to you.
You also need to make an effort to ride with your chosen group - they should not have to wait for you if you want a natter or your training plan says it's a Zone 2 day.
The Sunday Sportives are now in full swing and the Gran Fondos starting next week. We'd like to encourage more people to try these rides than the usual 19/17 groups, but this needs some organising. If you'd like a ~15 speed group for these rides, please let us know in advance as we need to make sure there is a leader, that there's enough people to make it viable (minimum 4) and so we can inform the cafes.
