If you're hoping to do the Tour of Gloucestershire this year (18th June), I've set up a preparation ride on 22nd May to Bath & Wells. This will be a good benchmark if you're considering the ToG but aren't sure if you have the fitness for a full 300km day out.
Route details below / on club calendar. It's an auda (200+ km), about 2,300m climbing. Leaving Pump Rooms at 8am, hoping to get back by 6pm.
All welcome! Let me know by email (simon.boswell@btinternet.com) as I don't check this forum that often.

I haven't had any feedback from this group on this ride, but in case anyone is hoping to come, please find latest details below. If you are hoping to jopin us on Sunday, please let me know by email (simon.boswell@btinternet.com)
1) If you want to support Stephen Poulton / Audax UK whose route this is, then you can buy a brevet card from Stephen here (https://audax.uk/event-details?eventId=273). It's not compulsory but it might help you understand why at certain points I'll be insisting we visit cafes or cashpoints!
2) If you don't like Komoot I've imported the route file into Garmin. (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/105762221)
3) Please come prepared for a full English summer's day out. Weather for Saturday currently looks benign, but, as with all long rides the risks of changeable weather are ever-present: I'd suggest a gilet / rain jacket for the slight risk of rain and sun-cream for the slight risk of sunburn. I'd also suggest lights just in case we are severely delayed for whatever reason, and something to charge electric devices is also helpful!
4) Nutrition. We will have stops about every 50km or so - I'm currently planning for coffee in Wootton, lunch in Wells, and mid-afternoon tea at Castle Combe. However, since its a Sunday and since the route brings us back through the Cotswolds, we will have limited opportunities for food & drink stops. So please make sure you have _two_ water bottles and enough snacks for emergencies.
We leave from the Pump Rooms at 8:00am, and I reckon we'll be back in 'nam by 18:30, but it could be later than that.
See you Sunday!
