It's that time of year again - watch out for the dreaded salt! Salt can cause a lot of corrosion damage to bikes and there's a lot more of it around in the colder months due to the gritting of the roads and more people using turbo trainers. If you're on a turbo, make sure you cover your headset to prevent sweat getting in to the headset. You may want to consider retaping your bars at the end of the season so you can check for any corrosion damage hidden under the bar tape.
If you've cycled outside after a cold spell, try and give your bike a good hose down to rinse off any salt residues.
To cover headsets and also top tubes when on the turbo, one of these has served me well over the years, available from your LBS or mechanic š Iām sure.
